Janet E. Brown of Edison passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick.  She was 93 years old.

Born in Perth Amboy, she has resided in Edison for the past 66 years.

Mrs. Brown was a 1950 graduate of Perth Amboy High School; and was employed as a Clerk for Van Syckle Auto Sales in Perth Amboy.

She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Perth Amboy and served as a Committeewoman for The Edison Republican Organization.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Brown, in 2018; parents, Christian and Ida Heiselberg Petersen; sister, Elaine Schanck; and brothers, Norman Petersen and  Richard Petersen.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathi Fancher, and her husband, Edward, of Levittown, PA; son, Douglas Brown, of Edison; and grandson, Joseph Fancher.

A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. The Family will begin to receive Relatives and Friends at 11:00 a.m.
