James Thomas Weir passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at home in Avenel. He was 79. Born in Tottenville, New York, he resided in the Hopelawn and Avenel sections of Woodbridge Township for 40 years. Mr. Weir was employed as a maintenance man for Elizabethtown Gas Company for 44 years before he retired in 1998. He was predeceased by his wife and best friend Carol Weir; and his parents, William and Martha Weir. James is survived by his loving children, two sons, Douglas T. Weir of Canyon Lake, TX and Eric Weir and his wife Maria of Avenel, NJ. A daughter, Colleen Hodgeman and her fiancé, Brad Wamsley of Avenel, NJ. He also has six grand-children: Nicole and Chelsea Hodgeman, Brenden, Ryan, Bethany and Brianna Weir. His first great-grandson is due in December. James was a fighting Irishman until the end. God Bless him. He will be missed by all his family pets: Pepper, Rusty, Kashmir, Sandy, Sammy, Melody, Bella and Theo. James and Carol are together in heaven. Bless their souls.
