James Bruce McKee passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2015 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 85 years old. Born in Staten Island, NY, he resided there before moving to the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township 57 years ago. Mr. McKee was employed as Machine Shop Foreman with Mack Boring and Parts Company in Union for 30 years before retiring in 1994. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Avenel and Unites States Army veteran. He was also an avid fisherman along with his good friend, Vinny Sorge. Mr. McKee was predeceased by a son, Ronald, in 2012. Surviving are his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary Jane Donnelly McKee; a daughter, June Geiger and her husband, Charles, of Colonia; a son, James Bruce McKee, Jr., of Rahway; a daughter in law, Paula McKee, of Palm Harbor, FL; a sister, Esther Timari and her husband, Michael, of Port Monmouth; a brother, Albert McKee and his wife, Dorothy, of Hamilton Square; six grandchildren, Eric Ian McKee, Kelly Lynn Holden, Ashlee Ann Capo, Mathew Brian McKee, Gregory Ryan Geiger and Kaitlin Holly Geiger; and five great grandchildren, Nicholas, Noah, Anthony, Veronica Rose and Jase. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Avenel. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ.
