James P. McGrath passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 73 years old.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY and has resided in Woodbridge since 1978.

Mr. McGrath was employed in minicomputer operations with Verizon Corporation in New York City for 31 years before retiring in 1994; and was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed his time spent fishing at his cabin on Timberlake in Virginia; and was interested in trains and whiskey.

Mr. McGrath was predeceased by his parents, Kathleen and John McGrath.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Cecile Natale McGrath; and children, Natasha McGrath and her husband, Michael Lebedev, of South Amboy and Natalie McGrath of Woodbridge.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Vanderhoven Chapel on the grounds of Hazel Wood Cemetery in Rahway. Interment will follow in Hazel Wood Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street (at Barron Avenue), Woodbridge.
