Jacqueline T.
Sullivan
February 14, 1968 — October 9, 2023
Commerce City
Jacqueline "Jackie" Teresa Lucas Sullivan, 55, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 in Brighton, Colorado with her elder daughter by her side. Jackie was born in 1968 on Valentine's Day in Staten Island, New York to Frances and Joseph Lucas. She grew up in New Jersey with her sister, Jennifer, and she graduated from Madison Central High School in 1986. Growing up she had a passion for riding horses which she would one day pass on to her daughters. She loved to travel, especially to her mother's native country, England, where she lived for a period of time after high school.
When she returned from England, she met the love of her life, Denis Sullivan, and married in October 1992. In 1994 they welcomed a daughter, Erin Frances, and another daughter Meghan Eileen in 1996. Tragically in 2000 her husband Denis passed away in a motor vehicle accident. With strength and humor she raised her girls on her own. Her girls were everything to her and got her through the toughest period in her life.
She moved to Maryland in 2006 with her daughters where she stayed until 2017. She met her partner William Jackson in 2013 and moved to Colorado in 2017. She fell in love with the state and began to happily build a new life there. She was thankful to find love again.
She was known for sense of humor, her wild curly hair, her cooking, and her love of Jon Bon Jovi. She was a "Jersey Girl" through and through. Jackie was happiest in the kitchen cooking for her family, her love language was food. A trait she has passed on to her daughters as well as her wicked sense of humor. Jackie was also deeply in love and obsessed, sometimes to the annoyance of her daughters, with her two mastiffs Chewbacca and Vader. They were everything to her the past couple of years and brought so much love and comfort.
Jackie's daughters' favorite memories of her are when they would sing "Living on a Prayer" by Jon Bon Jovi at the top of their lungs in the car on the way to somewhere. It was their song and it's the song they played as she left this world. It's the song that got them through the loss of Denis and it's the song Erin and Meghan will play for the rest of their lives to bring back the happiest moments with their mother.
Jackie was predeceased in death by her beloved husband, Denis B. Sullivan. She is survived by her daughters, Erin Sullivan of Easton, MD, and Meghan Sullivan and fiance, Tony Woodard of Denver, CO; her parents Joseph and Frances Lucas of Sebastian, FL; her sister Jennifer Stevenson and brother in-law John Stevenson of Ridgely, MD; her partner, William Jackson, and his daughter, Katelyn Jackson, of Commerce City, CO; her sisters-in-law: Maureen Fratello, Kathleen Hoban, and Geraldine Barrows of NJ and brothers- in-law, John Sullivan of NJ and Brendan Sullivan of FL as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by her many beloved nieces and nephews, Erika, Kayla, Paige, Justin, Amanda, Sean, Jared, Ryan, Maggie, Jayden, Catie, Maureen, Garret, Gavin, Shannon, and Denis, as well as her great nieces and nephew, Myles, Olive, Kaelynn, and Violet.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October28, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge, NJ.
