Ivette P. Pla passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at her home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township.  She was 65 years old.

Born in Cuba, she resided in Elizabeth, before moving to Avenel 30 years ago.

She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel.

Mrs. Pla was employed as an account manager with Ritter Sysco Food Services in Jersey City for 15 years.

She was predeceased by her parents Carlos and Maria Antonia Rosete Bauza.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Rolando Pla; children, Roland Pla of Highland Park and Jeannette Vaccaro and her husband, Joseph, of Rahway; sisters, Odalis Alcaide and Griselle Sotolongo, both of Elizabeth; brother, Carlos Bauza, of Piscataway; grandchildren, Annaliese Pla, Jordan Vaccaro and Justina Vaccaro; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel.  Interment be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research  Hospital (stjude.org) in Mrs. Pla's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
