Isabel Banko passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Roosevelt Care Center in Edison. She was 89 years old.

Born on March 13, 1932 in Gibbstown to the late Filomena and Pasquale DeFederico, she has resided in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township since 1958.

Mrs. Banko was employed as the manager of Denny's Restaurant in Avenel; and belonged to Saint Thomas the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church in Rahway.

She was predeceased by her sons, Michael Banko in 2002 and Craig Banko in 1999; and brothers, Thomas DeFederico in 1994 and Pasquale DeFederico in 2022.

Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Michael Banko; sister, Ann Floersch; brother, Carl DeFederico; and many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Thomas the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church, Rahway. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
