Imre Gorcz passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 79 years old.
Born in Hungary, he has resided in Woodbridge since 1962.
Mr. Gorcz was employed as a mechanic with Kama Film in Avenel
He was a member of John Calvin Hungarian Reformed Church in Woodbridge and served in the United States Army from 1960 until 1962. He also belonged to the Woodbridge Hungarian-American Citizens Club and Woodbridge Senior Billiards Club.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Edith Weinert Gorcz; three children, Michael Gorcz of Woodbridge, Jim Gorcz of Warminster, PA and Susan Paul of Millers Creek, NC; a brother, Ödön Gorcz, of Tanakajd, Hungary; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will begin on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Services will follow at 10:00 a.m. at John Calvin Hungarian Reformed Church, Woodbridge. Cremation will be at Rosehill Crematory, Linden. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to John Calvin Hungarian Reformed Church, 94 North James Street, Woodbridge, NJ 07095 in Mr. Gorcz's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
