Hugh M. Nobes of Woodbridge passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. He was 92 years old.

Born in Elizabeth on May 9, 1934 to the late Janet and George Nobes, he has resided in Woodbridge for the past 67 years.

Mr. Nobes was a United States Army Veteran; and was employed as an installer with Western Electric in Garwood for 33 years before his retirement.

He enjoyed Gardening and Leatherwork.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan C. Davis Nobes, in 2012.

He is survived by his son Glenn Nobes and Darlene McLaughlin, Glenn’s girlfriend.

A prayer service will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
