Helene L. Tanzy of Colonia passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. She was 71 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY; She resided in Avenel for 25 years before moving to Greiner Towers in Colonia in July. Mrs. Tanzy was employed as a claims adjuster with Blue Cross Blue Shield in New York many years ago. She was a Communicant of St. Andrew's R.C. Church in Avenel. She was predeceased by her parents George and Anna Tkasz Hampton; a sister Maryann McNeil; and a brother George Roy Hampton. She is survived by her husband of 41 Years Thomas J. Tanzy, Jr.; a son Thomas Tanzy and his wife Karen of Woodbridge. Funeral will take place Thursday 8:45 a.m. from COSTELLO-KOYEN FUNERAL HOME (www.Costello-koyen.com) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will follow at St. Andrew's r.C. church, Avenel. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Iselin. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm.
