Helene K. Joe of Chincoteague, VA passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at her daughter's home in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township. She was 78 years old.

Born in the Bronx, NY, on April 28, 1939, to the late Helene and Joseph Welsch, she resided in Avenel for most of her life.

Mrs. Joe was employed as a hospice nurse for most of her life.

She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Joe, in 1989; sister, Josephine Welsch; and stepfather, William Snead.

Surviving are her children, Stephen Joe, Theresa Reich, Anthony Joe and his wife, Ann, Michael Joe and his wife, Rose, and Jennifer Mizak and her husband, Bruce; stepsisters, Nola and Mary Jane; grandchildren, Danny and his wife, Danielle, Scott and his wife, Julie, Jessica, Joanne, Henry, Jackie and her husband, Michael, Anthony, Amanda, Matthew, Rachel, Rebecca and Jillian; and great grandchildren, Richie, Damien, Danny, Nicholas, Noah, Makayla and Lilliana.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ. Funeral services will be on Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Resurrection following at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
