Helen Spillar passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway after a courageous 14 year battle with cancer. She was 74 years old.

Born in Latrobe, PA, she has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township since 1969.

Mrs. Spillar was employed as a clerk with Bankers Savings in Perth Amboy for 25 years before retiring in 1996.

She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel; and belonged to the Knights of Columbus Widow's Circle.

Mrs. Spillar was predeceased by her husband, Gerald J. Spillar, in 2015; and by a sister, Iris Wilkinson.

Surviving are her children, Kristin Crincoli and her husband, Tom, of Morganville, Cory Spillar and his wife, Erin, of Avenel; brother, Joseph Wilkinson; grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan and Ryan Crincoli and Emily, Elizabeth and Connor Spillar; and nieces and nephews, Heather, Ross, Michael, Kim and Sara.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.
