Helen Ann McGowan of the Sewaren section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.  She was 63 years old.

Born in Staten Island, NY; She resided in Sewaren for the past 34 years,

Mrs. McGowan was employed at United Parcel Service for the past 25 years most recently as a Driver in Edison.

She was a loving mother, wife, and friend that made everyone feel welcome and invited. She had a big heart, often taking on the role of "neighborhood mom" by making her home the center of activities. Her big heart also extended to animals with her often being referred to as the "Crazy Cat Lady" by friends and family for feeding feral cats along her route.

She was predeceased by her parents Edmund and Alberta Lorenzo Meyers; and a brother John Meyers.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years Andrew J. McGowan; her children Jennifer Blash and her husband Troy, Kathleen McGowan, Robert McGowan, and Stephanie McGowan; her brothers Edmund Meyers, Robert Meyers, and James Meyers , NY; her grandchildren Christine, Lacey, and Zachary.

Visiting hour will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Friday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge.  Cremation will be private.
