Helen D. Kunak of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at JFK Medical Center. She was 95 years old.

Born in Avenel, She was a lifelong resident.

Mrs. Kunak was an Executive Secretary at Supermarkets General in Avenel for 25 years retiring in 1986.

Helen was a Communicant of St. Andrew's R.C. Church in Avenel and was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society at the church, and was a past president and life member of The Avenel Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary as well as life member of the Middlesex County and New Jersey State Firemens' Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Kunak was predeceased by her husband George Kunak who passed away in 2008; her parents Paul and Mary Demko Dunda; her brothers and sisters Veronica Merritt, Paul Dunda, Mary Urbanick, Pauline Harvan, John Dunda, and George Dunda.

She loved her family and is survived by her children Marilyn Stevens and her husband Dale of Fords, Ellen Petrucha and her husband Richard of Howell, and George M. Kunak and his wife Jane of Port Reading; nine Grandchildren and eight Great-Grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will take place Thursday, February 8th 9:45 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home ( www.Costello-koyen.com ) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Andrew's R.C. Church. Interment will follow in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
