Helen L. Anness passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, her 82nd birthday, at her home in Monroe Township. Born in Woodbridge, she resided there and in Bradenton, FL before moving to Monroe Township 10 years ago. Mrs. Anness was employed as an executive secretary at Midlantic Bank in Edison for many years before retiring in 1992. She was a 50 year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge; and past president of the White Church Guild. Helen is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles F. Anness; two daughters, Carol Lange of Jamesburg and Nancy Vitello of Howell; a son, Kenneth Anness, of Westfield; two brothers, Edward Gere of Mays Landing and Ernest Gere of Saint Augustine, FL; six grandchildren; and a great granddaughter. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge, 600 Rahway Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
