Harold E. Albrecht passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Adroit Care Rehabilitation Center in Rahway. He was 86 years old.

Born on September 11, 1939 to Bonyln and Walter Albrecht in Elizabeth, NJ, he resided in Edison before moving to the Sewaren section of Woodbridge Township in 1971.

Harry was one of the most genuine people you could have ever met . He was honest , knowledgeable, caring and would help anyone that needed it. Harry was an automotive mechanic and gas station owner of Harry’s Automotive and Sunoco in Colonia NJ for decades and had a strong following of regular customers. Harry was known as “ Harry the Hat” by his drag racing friends and was a tough competitor throughout his years racing at Island Dragway , Raceway Park and Atco Raceway . He lived a full life and the stories he would tell will stay with us forever. Harry loved his family, please keep his wife Barbara , sons Harry Jr and Scott.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son, Walter Albrecht in 1969; and brother, Ronald Albrecht.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Kurzenberger Albrecht; sons, Harry Albrecht, Jr. of Iselin and Scott Albrecht and his wife, Tina, of Jackson; grandchildren, Nicole, Stephen and Marissa; great-grandchildren, Keira and Aubrey.

We will all miss him ,his laughter and his stories . Rest In Peace Harry !! We all love you and will never forget you !

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home 44 Green Street (at Barron Avenue), Woodbridge. Cremation will be private.
