Harold J. Kindlick passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 90 years old.
Born in Perth Amboy, he has resided in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township for the past 60 years.
Mr. Kindlick was employed for many years by Chris Anderson Roofing in Perth Amboy and Park Roofing in New Brunswick through the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, Local #27, where he was presented an award for 70 years of service.
A United States Navy veteran of World War II, he was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading; and belonged to Don Bosco Council 5809, Knights of Columbus, Port Reading. He was also an exempt member of the Port Reading Fire Department where he served as chief in 1973.
Mr. Kindlick was predeceased by his wife, Norma R. Zuccaro Kindlick, in 2005; his parents John and Alice Sieczkowski Kindlick; and a sister, Lorraine Hogya.
Surviving are his children, Robin DiPoto and her husband, John, of North Brunswick and David Kindlick and his wife, Janet, of Ocean City; a brother, John Kindlick, of Morgan; three grandchildren, Blair Dawson and her husband, Jake, Tory Kindlick and his wife, Stephanie, and Justin DiPoto; and a great granddaughter, Victoria Rose Dawson.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home , 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Port Reading. Entombment will be at Saint James Chapel Mausoleum, Hopelawn. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Mr. Kindlick's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
