Harold E. Johnson of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township, NJ passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. He was 91 years old. Born in Montgomery, PA, he resided in Avenel for the past 43 years. Mr. Johnson was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was employed as a draftsman for Kupper Consulting in Piscataway for 24 years before retiring in 1990. Mr. Johnson was predeceased by his wife, Lillian Kornmeyer Johnson, in 2001. He is survived by a son, Wayne Johnson, and his wife, Janet, of Monmouth Junction, NJ; a sister, Audiss Johnson, of Montgomery, PA; and a step daughter, Gale Lukaszewski, and her husband, Tony, of Carteret, NJ. A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 14, 2014 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ. Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Clinton Township, PA.
