Obituary

Harland G. "Chip" Skuse, Jr. passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at his home in Sewaren. He was 70 years old.

Born in Perth Amboy, he has resided in Sewaren for the past 30 years.

Mr. Skuse was a United States Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam.

He was employed as a salesman with Putnam Stainless Steel in Union for 40 years before retiring in 2011.

Mr. Skuse was a life member of Simpson United Methodist Church in Perth Amboy and belonged to the choir at the church.

Chip was very proud of his service to his country and would speak to school children and various area groups about the Vietnam War and was honored with an award from the Legion of the Four Chaplains for his service.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harland G. Skuse, Sr., and Irene MacAfee Skuse.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon D'Amato, and her husband, Dominic, of Jackson; a son, David Skuse, of Woodbridge; a sister, Lynn Deto, of Venice, FL; four grand-children, Joseph, Anthony, Erin and Kasey; and his life companion, Eleanor Zane.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11:45 a.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home ( www.costello-greiner.com ), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation will be on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
