Gregory J. DeHotel passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014. He was 23 years old. Born in Edison, he resided in the Colonia and Avenel sections of Woodbridge Township for most of his life before moving to Edison earlier this year. He was a graduate of Colonia High School and was employed as a service technician with Lightning Mechanical in Maplewood. Greg was an amazing and giving person who was always there to help and support others. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his parents, Gregory and Patricia Wode DeHotel, of Edison; three sisters, Leah Muccilli, Ashley DeHotel and Alyssa DeHotel-Tapia; a brother, David Baldwin; his maternal grandmother, Frances Wilson; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Olive Bladt; four nieces Abigail, Izabella, Liliana, Teagan; a nephew Donald; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
