Gloria A. Mizak passed away peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Hackettstown Medical Center. She was 88 years old.
Born on May 8, 1934 in Perth Amboy to the late Phillip and Lena Herman. In addition to her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her husband, John Mizak, in 1990; and siblings, Clifford Herman, Richard Herman, Robert Herman and Lorraine Heine.

Gloria was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Avenel where she had served as a deacon and elder; sang in the choir; taught Sunday School; and was active with the F.I.S.H. ministry. She also served as a secretary for the church office.
Gloria's family was the center of her world. She and her husband John raised five children and continued to watch the family grow. Surviving are her children, Lorraine Mizak of Stillwater, Phyllis Billich and her husband, Roy, of Harmony, NJ, Gregory Mizak and his wife, Patricia, of Lebanon Township, Bruce Mizak and his wife, Jennifer, of Avenel and John Mizak and his wife, Connie, of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Nicole Billich and her fiancé, Kristian, Joanna Mizak, Courtney D'Avella and her husband, Mark, Sara Ramos and her husband, Steve, Daniel Mizak and his wife, Danielle, Scott Mizak and his wife, Julie, Jacqueline Mancuso and her husband, Michael, Matthew Mizak, Jillian Mizak and Samantha Mizak; and great grandchildren, Daniel Jr., Damien, Nico, Makayla, Noah, Lilliana, Elena, Isaac, Patrick, Oliver, Violet and Amalia.
Gloria's passions were reading, gardening and music. She welcomed all into her home and her heart and always gave of herself, not expecting anything in return. Her favorite bird, the cardinal, will always be a sign to all of the love she brought to the lives she touched.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Avenel. Interment will follow at Hazel Wood Cemetery in Clark Township.
