Glenn W. "Dinky" Schneider passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023. He was 60 years old.

Born in Woodbridge on June 5, 1963 to the late Barbara and Martin Schneider, he has resided in Edison for the past 6 years.

He spent most of his working days as a machinist, but those who knew him would call him a jack of all trades. Always willing to lend a helping hand, call his name and he would be there.

Dinky will always be remembered for his passion on the guitar and music as a whole. One of his greatest joys in life was playing music with his sons. Most nights he could be found at a local bar jammin' out whether it be solo, with his wife, or with his band 'The Smokin Catfish'. A true dead head at heart, he is now with his idol Jerry Garcia playing all the tunes. He was a lover of all things eccentric and especially loved his homemade tie dye shirts. He thoroughly enjoyed his projects; his garden was his pride and joy… along with the other hundred things he would be crafting at any given time. He truly was a unique and unforgettable man who will be missed by all.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 36 years, Laura Carney Schneider; children, Thomas Schneider of Edison, William Schneider of South Amboy, Amanda Schneider of Carteret and Sarah Schneider of Woodbridge; sister, Susan Donovan; and brothers, Martin Schneider Jr. and Kirk Schneider.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. Cremation will be private.
