Gladys "Loretta" Szemborski passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Genesis Health, Southern Ocean Center in Barnegat. She was 96 years old.

Born on September 1, 1925 in Jersey City to the late Gladys and Herman Soehngen, she resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township before moving to Manahwakin 2 1/2 years ago.

Mrs. Szemborski was employed as an accounts clerk with National State Bank in Woodbridge for many years before retiring many years ago.

She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel where she belonged to the Rosary Society.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Szemborski was predeceased by her husband, Raymond J. Szemborski, in 1979.

Surviving are her son, Raymond Szemborski and his wife, Carol, of Barnegat; four grandchildren Raymond Szemborski, Kevin Szemborski and his wife, Christine, Amy Coviello and her husband, Paul, Amanda Edwards and her husband, Stephen; nine great grandchildren, Sabrina, Amaya, Abigail, Ashley, Braden, Ryleigh, Averie, Justin and Jaelyn.

Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
