Gertrude Woodruff passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy Division. She was 95 years old.

A lifelong resident of Woodbridge Township, she was born in Iselin and has resided in Avenel for the last 72 years.

Mrs. Woodruff was employed at the Shop-Rite of Avenel. Upon her retirement she served as president of Golden Circle, Avenel Senior Citizens and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She was predeceased by her husband, Elliott Woodruff, in 1999.

Surviving are her brother, Raymond Huber; children, Evelyn Weber, Edward K. Gibson, John P. Gibson and James Scott Gibson; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
Due to the current pandemic all funeral services were private under the direction of Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge.

Contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) in Gertrude's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
