Gerald J. Spillar passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. He was 72 years old. Born in Latrobe, PA, he has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township since 1969. Mr. Spillar was employed as General Manager of Twin Oaks in Dayton; and had previously been employed by Federal Business Center in Edison. He was a United States Army veteran; communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel; and belonged to Saint Andrew Council 5088, Knights of Columbus, Avenel. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Helen Wilkinson Spillar; a daughter, Kristin Crincoli and her husband, Tom, of Morganville; a son, Cory Spillar and his wife, Erin, of Avenel; a sister, Carol Grein and her husband Monty, of Ridgefield Park; and six grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan and Ryan Crincoli and Emily, Elizabeth and Connor Spillar; five nieces and nephews Heather, Ross, Michael, Kim, and Sara. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.costello-koyen.com), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.
