Gerald J. Lance passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at his home in the Hopelawn section of Woodbridge Township. He was 67 years old.

Born in Perth Amboy on July 8, 1955 to the late Lillian and Anthony Lance, he was a lifelong resident of Hopelawn.

Mr. Lance was employed as a heavy equipment operator with the Woodbridge Township Department of Recycling for 14 years before retiring in 2014; and owned and operated Off Main Salon in Woodbridge for many years.

An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was a true people person, eager to help others, even if just by giving a smile or a laugh. Jerry also loved and was a rescuer of animals. All of his pets were rescues, the most recent being Lily and Cowboy.

Surviving are his wife of 11 years, Linda Schultz; sister, Judith Lance and her husband, Gary Johnson, of North Brunswick; brother, Anthony Lance, Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Hopelawn; mother in law, Margaret Schultz; sisters in law, Marilyn Schultz and Doreen Schultz; brother in law, Kenneth Schultz and his wife, Denise; nephews, Christian Lance, Julian Lance and Anthony Prosapio; and many loving cousins and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) in Mr. Lance's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
