Gerald John Cawley passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 84 years old.

He was born in Kingston, PA and resided in Little Ferry before moving to the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township 54 years ago.

Mr. Cawley was employed as a truck driver for most of his life, first with Horace T. Potts Company and later with Rickel and Channel Home Centers until 1999; and has since worked as a bus driver with Dapper Bus Company in Iselin.

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War; and belonged to the Tin Can Sailors.

Mr. Cawley was predeceased by his wife, Joan Cawley, in 2003; brother, Raymond Cawley; and a grandson, Adonis Maldonado.

Surviving are his children, Donna Maldonado, Debbie Boyer and her husband, Wayne, Kathleen Viggiano and her husband, Michael, Kelly Cawley and her companion, Patrick Prokopiak, and Kevin Cawley; sister, Maureen Walsh;  grandchildren, Brittaney Delgado and her husband, Chris, Richard Paola, Micaela Viggiano, Louis Viggiano, Crystal Maldonado Dengelegi and her husband, Dave, and Jamie Maldonado; and great grandchildren, Gianna, Briella, Jaxon, Alyvia, Jyllian, Adonis, Kyra, Alexandria, Ty and Damon.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home ( www.costello-koyen.com ), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Entombment will be in Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Visiting hours for family and friends will be on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
