George Lodzinski passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his daughters home in Lopatcong. He was 88 years old.

Born in Elizabeth, he has resided in Avenel since 1956.

Mr. Lodzinski was employed as a Truck Driver and Mechanic for Gilchrest Brothers Trucking in Port Newark and Lakewood for 47 years, before retiring in 2003; and was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.

He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel; a member of Saint Andrew Council #5088, Knights of Columbus in Avenel; and proud owner of a beloved gold Buick Roadmaster.

He was predceased by his wife, Joanna M. Gasparri Lodzinski, in 2000; parents, Walter and Magdelina Zebro Lodzinski; sisters, Bertha Lodzinski and Dolores Dulemba; and brothers, Rudolph, Joseph, Edward and Peter Lodzinski.

Surviving are his daughters and son-in-law, Linda J. Lodzinski of Avenel; Lisa A. Correa and her husband, Carlos, of Lopatcong; sister, Gertrude Lipke, of Denville; his brother-in-law Paul Gasparri; his sister-in-laws Kathleen Gasparri, Lora Anderzon and Gertrude Ladinski and many nieces, nephews and their spouses and families.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home ( www.costello-greiner.com ), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemtery, Colonia. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
