George Alevizatos of Edison passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Roosevelt Care Center in Edison. He was 88 years old.

Born in Piraeus, Greece, he resided in Perth Amboy before moving to Edison in 1961.

Mr. Alevizatos was a member of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy and served in the Greek Army during the Korean conflict.

George owned and operated Cyclotemp HVAC in Edison for 40 years before his retirement in 2005.

He was predeceased by his wife, Stella Goumas Alevizatos, in 1987; parents, Joseph and Katerina Alevizatos; sisters, Froso Dermati and Evangalia Salemaki; and brother, Gerasimos Alevizatos.

Surviving are his children, Julie Cosentino and her husband, Gerard, of South River and Joseph Alevizatos and his wife, Joanna K., of Raleigh, North Carolina; grandchildren, Alaina Alevizatos, Christina Alevizatos, Daniel Cosentino and Alyssa Cosentino; his companion of 25 years, Ronnie DeVivo; many loving and devoted nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Herbie.

Funeral will take place on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Wisteria Street, Perth Amboy. Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. with Trisagion services at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
