Gary Milbert passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 75 years old.

He was born in Martins Ferry, OH and has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for the last 35 years.

Mr. Milbert was employed as a chemical operator with FMC Corporation in Carteret, where served as union president, and as a lab analyst with Merck and Co. in Rahway prior to retiring in 2010.

He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church; an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed "playing the ponies" at Winners OTW in Fords.

He was predeceased by his parents, Laura and Charles Milbert; sister, Cheryl Grago; and brother, Buddy Milbert.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Chadwick Milbert, who he was preparing to celebrate 50 years of marriage in February; children, Laura Almerino and her husband, JR, of Avenel and Lisa Roesler and her husband, John, of Whitehouse Station; sister, Billy Jean Barber, of Roscoe, PA; grandchildren, Heather, Stephanie, Jennifer, Johnny, Kylie, and Andrew; great grandson, Ryan; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home ( www.costello-koyen.com ), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Cremation will be private. Visiting hours for family and friends be on Friday evening 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
