Gail Jeanne Kapinos (nee Petersen), a cherished individual known for her kind, loving and caring soul, left us peacefully on Wednesday April 2, 2025 at Accension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN. She was surrounded by her children.

Gail was the loving mother to her six children and wonderful Nana to her ten grandchildren.

She was a member of Lodge 784, BPOE Elks, South Amboy.

Mrs. Kapinos was a longtime lover of the New York Mets and her many dogs over the years. She has the kindest heart and loved everyone. There was always a place for everyone at her table where food was always ready. Holidays and gatherings at her house were always the best.

She always lived life to the fullest and although she is gone, she will live in our hearts forever. Soar with the angels Mommy.

Surviving Gail are her six children, David and his wife Elaine, Chris and his wife Linda, Dan and his wife Sondra, Gail and her husband Mike, Donna and her husband Dennis and Joe and his wife Caren; grandchildren, David, Michael, Matthew, Rachel, Heather, Aaron, Leah, Ian, Ashley and Taylor; and brother, Gary Petersen and his wife, Patty.

Gail was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, David J. Kapinos Sr; parents, Christian and Bernice Petersen; and siblings, Ronald, James and Bonnye.

Funeral Services will take place from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. A funeral liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge. Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
