Frederick J. Harris passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 68 years old.

Born in Newark, he resided in the Colonia section of Woodbridge Township for over 60 years.

Fred was a patrolman with the Woodbridge Police Department for 34 years, belonged to Woodbridge PBA Local 38 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathleen Baumann Harris; sons, Patrick Harris and his wife, Christine, of Matawan, Daniel Harris of Colonia and Michael Harris of Colonia; and a sister, Cheryl Lye, of Toms River.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. Funeral services will take place on Saturday morning at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home followed at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Resurrection at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Entombment will be in Saint James Chapel Mausoleum, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org), 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Fred's memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
