Franklin A. Theiss passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2023 at his home in the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township. He was 93 years old.

Born in Newark on November 11, 1929 to the late Agnes and Franklin Theiss, he resided in Metuchen before moving to Iselin with his family in 1970.

Franklin was courageously employed as a firefighter with the City of Newark for 25 years, and he was a disabled veteran of the Korean War where he served with the United States Army. Frank's favorite pastime was going to the horse races. Outside of being his own home which he also loved, the racetrack was his happy place.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Arlene Ann LeFanto Theiss, on December 1, 2022.

Surviving are his children, Robyn Theiss of Iselin and Eric Theiss and his wife, Jessica, of Exton, PA; and grandchildren, Jolei Theiss Alers (fiancé Thomas Ault), Cameron Franklin Theiss and Maxwell Michael Theiss.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, privately.
