Frank "Arnie" Festa, a World War II US Navy veteran, passed away peacefully on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2013 at his home in Toms River. He was 89 years old. Nicknamed Arnie by his family because of his passion for golf. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Woodbridge before moving to Toms River 3 years ago. Arnie was employed as a truck driver through Teamsters Local 560 of Union City at Maislin Brothers Trucking in Carlstadt for many years before retiring. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Ferrara Festa, in 2006. He is survived by a four daughters, Patricia Penniplede of Toms River, Isabelle Festa and her husband, Arthur Hamer, of Woodbridge, Nancy Flemm of Manchester and Georganne Toye of Lynn, MA; a son, Joseph Festa, and his wife, Cheryl Pusillo Festa, of Palm Coast, FL; four grandchildren, Joseph Penniplede, Denise Penniplede-Pitts, Jill Patino and Christopher Toye; and three great grandchildren, Corey and Jordan Pitts and Judah Patino. A private funeral service will be held for family. All friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge.
