Frank Joseph Battito III passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at JFK Hartwyck at Edison Estates Care Center. He was 71 years old.

Born in Newark, he has resided in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township since 1962.

Mr. Battito was a graduate of Woodbridge High School, class of 1966 and Lincoln Technical Institute. He was employed as a mechanic with Foley Tow Lift in Piscataway for 22 years before his retirement.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Avenel, where he served as an elder and a deacon; and also belonged to the Lake Island Gun Club in Carteret. He served as Troop master with Troops 31 and 41, BSA and played Santa Claus for many years at JFK Hartwyck Care Centers and various area charities and groups.

He was predeceased by his parents, Angela and Frank Battito; and a sister, Nancy Battito.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Patricia Barrett Battito; children, Sean Battito and his wife, Cindy, of Mohnton, PA, Heather Canfield and her husband, Andy, of Nutley and Anthony Battito and his wife, Kristy, of Brick; and grandchildren, Garrett, Cameron, Tricia and Kari-Ann.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (www.costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Services will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Avenel. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
