Frank A. Basta passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 92 years old.

Born in Parsons, PA, he has resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township for the past 52 years.

Mr. Basta was employed as a sales representative with Supermarket Services, Inc. in Rahway for 30 years before his retirement in 1988.

He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel; a United States Navy veteran of World War II; and belonged to Saint Andrew Council 5088, Knights of Columbus in Avenel and BPOE Elks Lodge 2116 in Woodbridge.

Frank was known to family and friends as an accomplished grillmaster and champion Jersey tomato grower and the ultimate Yankees fan!

Surviving are his children, Jeanne Walters of Brandon, FL, Susan Fischer of Fairless Hills, PA and Frank A. Basta, Jr. of Feasterville, PA; sister, Josephine Zionkowski of Wheeling, OH; brother, Michael Basta of Wilkes-Barre, PA; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, October 27, 2018 beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home ( www.costello-greiner.com ), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m at the funeral home.
