Frances R. (Frederick) Hester of Flemington passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024.  She was 82 years old.

Born in the Tottenville section of Staten Island, NY; She resided in Woodbridge until the early 1960's.  She resided in Richmond, Virginia for a brief time before returning to New Jersey, eventually settling in Phillipsburg in 1968.  She resided there until moving to Flemington in 1993.

Ms. Hester was employed with The State of New Jersey at The Hunterdon Developmental Center for 30 years, retiring as The Director of Medical Records in 1999.

She greatly enjoyed murder mysteries and listening to early rock & roll music.  A granddaughter of immigrants, she was very proud of her Italian and Danish heritage and fulfilled a lifelong dream by visiting Italy in 1998.

She was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Lucy Mandico Frederick; a sister Florence Crowell; a brother Stanley Frederick, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Marlene Hester of New Orleans; a son John Hester and his wife Michelle of Hackettstown, NJ; two grandsons Julian Hester and Aiden Hester, and six nieces.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:30 am at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge.  Interment will follow at Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
