Frances M. Coogan passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Rahway.  She was 85 years old

Born in Woodbridge on July 3, 1938 to the late Nicholas and Ann Berardi she was a lifelong resident of Woodbridge.

Mrs. Coogan was employed as a Calculator with Prudential Insurance in Newark for 20 years before becoming a Crossing Guard at Amboy Avenue and Grove Avenue Woodbridge for 19 years.

In addition to her parents Frances was predeceased by 2 brothers Eugene Berardi and Bobby Berardi.

Surviving is her husband of 58 years Arthur Coogan; her daughter Kelly LaPenta of Woodbridge; her siblings Nicholas Berardi of Freehold and Nancy Brown of Port Reading; her grandchildren Katelynn Nalewajko, Casandra LaPenta and Anthony LaPenta; and her great-grandchildren Kaylee, Kenzie and Nicholas Nalewajko.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday May 25, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home located at 44 Green Street Woodbridge, NJ 07095. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at Good Shepherd Parish 625 Florida Grove Road Hopelawn, NJ 08861 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Cloverleaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday May 24, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
