Fortunata "Nadine" Gambino passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. She was 84 years old.

Born on August 30, 1936 to the late Maria and Guiseppe Carbonaro in Brooklyn, NY, she resided in Port Reading and Cream Ridge before moving to Iselin a year and a half ago.

Mrs. Gambino was employed as a secretary with Equitable Life Assurance / AXA Financial in Edison for 20 years before retiring in 1998; and was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading.

She enjoyed playing piano and spending time with her family. In the time just after World War II she would play piano to entertain servicemen in Coney Island; and in later years she crocheted hats for babies and blankets for the elderly.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Gambino, in 2019; and brothers, Vincent Carbonaro and her twin, Frank Carbonaro.

Surviving are her daughters, Anna Gambino and John Gunderson of Woodbridge, Maria and Joseph Mecca of South Brunswick and Elaina and Joseph Pacella of Sewaren; grandchildren, Alex, Joey, Corinna, Holly, Nicholas and Emily; and great grandchildren, Madison, Mia and Gianna, who she adored.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Port Reading. A private family entombment service will follow. Funeral services are entrusted to Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) in Mrs. Gambino's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
