Florence Gerhart passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Roosevelt Care Center in Edison. She was 100 years old.
She was born on January 3, 1925 in Summit Hill, PA to the late Clara and Michael Jachowicz and resided in the Colonia and Iselin sections of Woodbridge Township for many years.
Mrs. Gerhart was employed RCA and Gibson Associates and then as a stocker with Bradlee's Department Store in Woodbridge prior to her retirement; and was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph P. Gerhart, in 1997; daughter, Patricia Pucciarello; sisters, Bernadette York and Joanne Kurtz; and brothers, Frank Jachowicz and Ladislaw "Butch" Jachowicz.
Surviving are her sons, Joseph Gerhart and Richard Gerhart and his wife, Frances; grandchildren, Marlana Rokose and her husband, Don, Richard Gerhart, Jr. and his wife, Jamie and Kristy Pucciarello; great grandchildren, Asley, Dylan, Christian and Noah; and great great granddaughter, Elliana.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) in Mrs. Gerhart's memory would be greatly appreciated by her family.
