Ezequiel Correa of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Rahway. He was 86 years old.

Born in Hatillo, Puerto Rico; he resided in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn before moving to Avenel 22 years ago.

Mr. Correa served in the United States Army Veteran during the Vietnam War.

He was employed as a Central Office Technician with New York Telephone retiring in 1995 after 25 years of service.

A man of deep Christian faith and values he was a director of the Royal Rangers from 1967 until 1991 and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Avenel.

He was predeceased by his parents Jose and Eulalia Correa; his sisters Antonia Martinez, Esther Correas, and Gloria Martinez; his brothers Adrian Correa and Carmelo Correa.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years Ramona Morales Correa; his daughter Joanne E. Lopez of Avenel; a son Melvin E. Correa of Mount Laurel, NJ; a sister Anna Cruz of Florida; his brothers Osvaldo Correa and David Correa both of Puerto Rico; his grandchildren Jasmine A. Lopez, Ashley G. Lopez, Amelo Correa, and Journey Correa.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, Septmber 9, 2026 10:00 am at Central Baptist Church 505 Wylie Street, Avenel Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Central Baptist Church 505 Wylie Street, Avenel, NJ 07001.
