Evelyn Vega passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at her home in Woodbridge. She was 56 years old.

Born in Jersey City, she resided in Hoboken before moving to Woodbridge 23 years ago.

Mrs. Vega was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge.

She was employed as an Administrative Assistant with Schlesinger and Associates in Iselin for 14 years.

Mrs. Vega was predeceased by her parents, Claudio and Christina Aponte Chaparro.

Surviving are her loving husband of 40 years, Julio Vega, Sr.; daughter, Milagros Vega of Woodbridge; son Julio Vega, Jr. of East Brunswick; brothers, Claudio Chaparro, Jr. of Middlesex and Nelson Chaparro of West Orange; and grandchildren, Silas, Rhys, Halina, Anthony, Jr. and Matthew.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Interment will follow in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue Woodbridge.
