Ethel Marie Lynch of Carteret passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick. She was 74 years old.
Born in LaPorte, Indiana; She resided in Carteret for the past 50 years.
Mrs. Lynch was a 1969 graduate of LaPorte High School and graduated from Memorial Hospital of South Bend Nursing School, South Bend, IN in 1972.
She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Rahway Hospital, The Visiting Nurses Association and Bayada Home Care before retiring in 2016.
Mrs. Lynch was an active volunteer with the Girl Scouts as troop leader and Service Unit Director from 1985-2001.
She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Lynch who passed away in 2016; her father Robert Clark; and her brother Dennis Clark.
Surviving are her two daughters Kelly Viands and husband Paul of Crownsville, Maryland and Kathleen Lynch of Carteret; a son Kevin Lynch and his partner Thomas Lazo of Fort Worth Texas; her mother M. Arlene Clark; three sisters Penelope Clark of Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, Robin Noll of Mifflintown, Pennsylvania and Nancy Massie of St. Leonard, Maryland; 2 grandchildren Genevieve Viands and Abigail Viands.
In addition to her career in health care as a nurse and her volunteer work in the Girl Scouts, Ethel is remembered fondly by her family and friends for her loving nature, opening her house to all and welcoming them into her large and joyful family. Her children's friends especially remember Mrs. Lynch as a loving and caring presence.
She will be greatly missed by all, but especially by her children and close family, who will miss her counsel, her laugh, and her sarcastic wit, which diffused any situation.
A prayer service will take place on 7/10/2025 At Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street, Woodbridge. Visiting hours will be from 1 until 5 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Rutgers Cancer Insitute or RWJ Barnabas Cancer Serives in Ethel's memory.
