Ethel H. Leahy of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Rahway. She was 90 years old.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ; She resided in Avenel for the past 69 years.

Mrs. Leahy was a Communicant of St. Andrews R.C. Church in Avenel.

She was predeceased by her husband William T. Leahy who passed away in 2004; her parents Anthony Sabo and Viola Kardos.

She is survived by her children Christine Leahy of Hope, NJ, Patricia Robie of Toms River, Maureen Appel and her husband Eric of Toms River, Colleen Gfroehrer and her husband Michael of Avenel; her grandchildren Adam Zmigrodski and his wife Kerry, Kate Zmigrodski and her partner Robert, Matthew Pirnik and his wife Colleen, Kelly Sanders, Casey Pirnik, Sara Robie, Jennifer Bennett and her husband Eric, Kyle Appel, Ryan Appel and his wife Crystal, Glenn Appel, Meaghan Gfroehrer, Marykate Gfroehrer, Emily Gfroehrer, Amy Gfroehrer, and Michael Gfroehrer; her great-grandchildren Sam, Jack, Harry, Alyson, Mason, Zach, Grace, Kylie, Charlie, Abby, Kendal, Tessa, Reese, Christian, Molly, Emma, Eric, Piper, and Luke; her brother-in-law Robert Leahy and his wife Santa.

Funeral will take place Friday, November 2, 2018 8:45_ a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home ( www.Costello-koyen.com ) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. Andrew's R.C. Church, Avenel. Interment will be in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visiting hour will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
