Ernestine Lanza passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020. She was 98 years old.

Born in Westfield, she resided in Rahway for many years before moving to Avenel in 1988.

Mrs. Lanza owned and operated Ernie's Luncheonette in Rahway for many years.

She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Catholic Church in Avenel; and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 681 in Rahway. She was also an avid bowler in Middlesex and Union counties and enjoyed bingo as well as crocheting and reading.

Mrs. Lanza was predeceased by a daughter, Martha Strode.

Surviving are her children, Annette Zsamba, Nancy Myers, Anthony Lanza and Neil Lanza; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren with another one on the way.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. from Costello-Koyen Funeral Home ( www.costello-koyen.com ), 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel. Interment will be at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Visitation will be on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
