Emil W. Brautigam of Roselle passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was 98 years old.

Born in Elizabeth; He resided in Roselle for 63 years and at The Atria assisted living in Cranford for the past 2 years while he was living at The Artia he made many wonderful friends and enjoyed playing poker and doing arts and crafts.

Walter worked for Singer Sewing Machine Company in Elizabeth on the assembly line and retired after 43 years   He also worked as a driver for Catholic charities and power transit   Walter was an escort and volunteer for the blind and visually impaired program for many years.

Walter loved and collected trains since he was 5 years old.   He also enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, roller skating, dancing, and playing the organ. Walter loved his cats Sugar, Blackie and Bucky.

Walter was predeceased by his wife Rose Brautigam who passed away in 1993.

He is survived by his daughters Diane Brautigam and Dolores Brautigam, and will be missed by his family and friends.

Private funeral services took place under the direction of Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, Woodbridge. Interment took place at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia
