Elsa Martinez passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Peggy Clooney's House at Hope Village in Scotch Plains. She was 85 years old.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she resided in Queens, NY for many years before recently moving to New Brunswick.

Mrs. Martinez worked in the jewelry industry with her husband at Martinez Creations in New York City.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Hector Martinez, on August 23rd of this year; and a sister, Zulema Sganga.

Surviving are a daughter, Liliana Montero and her husband, Manuel, of Avenel; a son, Mauricio Martinez, of Winchester, VA; a sister, Angelica Bevacqua, of Buenos Aires, Argentina; her former daughter in law, Vatherine Smith; and four grandchildren, Manuel, Karina, Madeline and Lillian.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, Avenel.

The family would appreciate contributions in Elsa's memory to Center for Hope Hospice, 1900 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076 in lieu of flowers.
