Elizabeth "Betty" Ur Huth was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Abington Manor Care Center in Green Brook. She would have celebrated her 89 th birthday on September 14.
Born on September 14, 1929 to the late Alex and Julia Silagy Ur, she was a lifelong resident of Woodbridge and graduate of Woodbridge Vocational High School where she studied nursing. During World War II she worked in Camp Kilmer as a cashier and hostess. Later, she was a private caretaker for Mrs. Vogel, mother of State Senator Bernard Vogel of Woodbridge.
Mrs. Huth was a member of the Calvin Hungarian Reformed Church of Woodbridge; loved opera, classical music and vintage movies; and was a devoted animal lover. She was a sprinter in her younger years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Huth was predeceased by her husband, August Huth, in 1999; sisters, Irma and Rose Ur and Mary Ruiz; and brothers, Alex, John, Joseph and Stephen Ur.
Surviving are her sister, Agnes Mudrack; and brother, David Ur.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. Cremation will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
