Elizabeth Geiger of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at home. She was 89 years old. Born in Yugoslavia; She resided in Avenel for the past 59 years. Mrs. Geiger was employed at The Fulton Restaurant in Rahway and as a cafeteria worker for 12 years at the Woodbridge Township Board of Education at Avenel Middle School before retiring in 1994. She was a Communicant of St. Andrew's R.C. Church in Avenel. Mrs. Geiger was predeceased by her husband Frank Geiger who passed away in 1978. She is survived by a daughter Elizabeth Boehm and her husband Peter of Port Reading; two sons Frank Geiger and his wife Elizabeth of Woodbridge, and Ernest Geiger of Avenel; a sister Katherine Jonke of Avenel; four grandchildren Jason Geiger, Michael Geiger, Jennifer Starrick and her husband Stephen and Nicholas Boehm and his wife Cassandra; a great-granddaughter Abigail Rose Starrick. Funeral will take place Wednesday 10:00 A.M. at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home (www.Costello-koyen.com) 399 Avenel Street, Avenel. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
