Eleanor M. Woratschek Palazzo of Woodbridge passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Care One at King James in Atlantic Highlands. She was 86 years old. Born in Mount Oliver, PA on October 28, 1927, she resided in Woodbridge most of her life. Mrs. Palazzo was a 1945 graduate of Woodbridge High School. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Port Reading. Mrs. Palazzo was employed by Lumured Plastic Corporation in Woodbridge for 16 ½ years and as a Shipping Clerk with Outlet Book Company / Random House in Avenel for 22 years. Eleanor was an amateur poet. She received several awards and had poems published in The National Library of Poetry, The World of Poetry and The International Library of Poetry. Her poem "Fire" was used by local Fire Companies. She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Noel E. Palazzo who passed away in 2003; her parents Charles and Anna Stock Woratschek; three sisters, Anna Marie Woratschek, Helen Stehle and her husband Eugene, Mary Siwiec and her husband Jacob; her beloved niece, Irene Siwiec Melillo; a cousin, Fred Woratschek; and a sister-in-law, Angel Wang . She is survived by four nieces, Louise Welch and her family of Atlantic Highlands, Charlene Stehle Hansen-Lake and her family of Chardon, Ohio; Jennifer Dury and her husband of Canada, and April Kelly and her family of Fords; two nephews, Angelo Melillo, Sr. of Keansburg and Timothy Krawiecki of New Hampshire; five great nephews, one great niece and her husband; two brother-in-laws, Dale Morris and Paul Wang and his wife Kathryn; also three sister-in-laws, Faith Hernandez, Lynn Krawiecki and Melanie Wang; she is also survived by two special cousins Robert Woratschek of Pittsburgh, and Rosemarie Davis and her husband Tim of Washington, PA; her loving pet Sparkee; and many friends. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. from Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue in Woodbridge. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
